Those fools think draenethyst crystals are our salvation. <Tesania laughs, sharp and bright, like she just heard a perfect joke.> Salvation. For us. That is a good one. There is no saving our people. Still, I intend to delay the inevitable for as long as I can. <She glances at the two withered nearby, her smile fading into open contempt.> I have no desire to end up like that. To the east lie the ruins of Maras’ethil. Once a Highborne center of learning. Now a broken monument to our arrogance. Typical. My research suggests there are still artifacts there. Old ones. Potent ones. The kind certain parties would trade generously for in mana crystals. Very generously. Bring me at least four artifacts worth my time. I promise, you will find the reward far more pleasant than whatever fate awaits the rest of us.
On return
The Highborne ghosts still think they are alive. They haunt the ruins, patrolling streets that no longer exist, guarding cities that fell centuries ago. In their minds, nothing has changed. They will not part with their secrets willingly. Nor their artifacts. Expect resistance. Ferocious, stubborn, and very offended that you dare disturb their illusion.
Turn-in
Oh, these are potent. The magic on them is still alive. Old, refined, dangerous. Otherworldly, even. And the craftsmanship… honestly, it is almost enough to make me nostalgic. Almost. Yes, these are very much worth investigating. Possibly worth more than that, depending on who is asking. Well done, hero. You earned your keep.
